AISCO TMT bars are produced as per specifications mentioned in IS:1786. However, carbon levels are restricted to much lower than the specification, which results in excellent ductility, high bendability, and superior weldability.

Easy Bends and Re-Bends

AISCO's excellent bending capabilities result from the tough outer surface and the soft core of the bar. The bar can be bent around mandrels much smaller than those specified in IS 1786. This has obvious advantages at construction sites.

Greater Strength & Guaranteed Ductility

Natural disasters in the form of earthquakes have done tremendous damage to human beings, and there is little we can do for that. As a major part of the Indian subcontinent falls in seismic zone, it is a matter of great concern for us. Through continuous research and development, the technical team of AISCO has introduced the unique properties of uniform elongation, greater strength, and enhanced guaranteed ductility in TMT bars, which give strong resistance to earthquakes. “Uniform Elongation” means elongation corresponding to the maximum load reached in a tensile test. The minimum percent value of uniform elongation varies from 14.5% to 16% depending upon the grade of TMT bars and is a very crucial property for TMT bars to be used in seismic zones.

Better Weldability

AISCO's low carbon equivalent results in a welding strength that can be butt-welded or lap-welded using simple welding practices using ordinary rutile-coated electrodes of matching strength. Generally, no pre- and post-welding treatment is required.

Corrosion Resistance

The precise control of the thermomechanical treatment process results in a uniform and thick-tempered martensitic rim, completely free from internal stresses. This martensitic rim improves the corrosion resistance of the AISCO bar as well as the fatigue strength.

Saving in Steel by Dimensional Tolerance

AISCO rebar is rolled as per IS 1786 mass tolerance controlled between mines to zero, which reduces overload and the quantity of steel consumed by 3 to 7% without compromising on strength.

Earthquake Resistance

In a series of tests, concrete beam-column joints, reinforced with AISCO, were subject to repeated revered loads with inelastic strains. These simulation tests were conducted to evaluate their performance during an earthquake. The result showed uniformly maintained ductility till failure due to uniform energy dissipation during each cycle.

High Fire Resistance

AISCO TMT bars have higher thermal stability in comparison to other TMT bars and have no loss of strength up to 6000 C.

Unique Identification System

To ensure proper identification and marking of AISCO TMT bars and to avoid duplication, name and grade are marked on each meter length of the product. It not only facilitates easy identification of the brand but also clearly indicates the grade to avoid complexity while using, in case of storing various grades of the same size in one place. While introducing identification marks during rolling, due care is taken to ensure that performance in use of the TMT bars is not affected. Further, a tag is attached to each bundle of AISCO TMT bars to indicate cast no./lot no., grade, brand, and size.

Uniform Rib Pattern

AISCO TMT has a unique rib pattern in terms of greater rib depth and closer rib spacing. Not only this, its ribs are made using computer-controlled CNC notch cutting machines. This ensures a uniform rib pattern for 100% of the bars, which allows uniformly strong bonding with concrete for the whole structure.

Specified Length

AISCO TMT bars are supplied in fixed lengths of 12 meters. However, if bars are specified to be cut to certain lengths, each bar shall be cut within deviations of +75 / -25 mm on the specified length. However, if only minimum lengths are specified, the deviation shall be +50/-0 mm.
